What should I do to fundraise?
The most important part of a fundraiser is… fun!
Think of something you love to do, and build a fundraiser around it.
Whether it’s something you can teach, sell, or just do together, your friends and family will be excited to participate because of your passion.
Teach Something You Know
Even a small ticket price can raise a bundle for a cause. Lead an upcycling or mending workshop where participants can create art pieces or fix old clothes. Teach people how to garden, cook your favorite recipe, or draw some rainforest animals.
Hold a Sale
Finally get rid of your old books and clothes, and donate the proceeds—you can even ask your friends and neighbors to contribute. Or bake your best cookies and hold a bake sale!
Host Your Favorite Event
Host a movie screening, talent show, concert, or trivia night—any event can raise money for a good cause. All you have to do is find a connection to the environment and ask for donations during the event or sell tickets.

Who should I ask for donations?
Use this worksheet to brainstorm different ways you’re connected to people, then build up a list of potential people to ask.
Make a copy of the Ask Tracker Template to make a list of people you want to ask along with when and how you plan to ask them.

How should I ask people for donations? What do I say?
Be genuine: Tell people why you’re deciding to spend time and effort running a fundraiser in the first place! Asking people for donations is like any other skill: it can be difficult at first, but it gets easier with practice.
Check out our How to Ask guide for tips & tricks, advice, and sample social media posts, texts, and emails you can use for your fundraiser! And always remember to thank the person you ask for a donation, no matter how they respond.

How do I send the money I raise to RFUS?
Create a personal fundraising page
Fill out the form at this link to start a personal fundraising page. Share the link and QR code to your personal fundraising page to track exactly who gave to your fundraiser and how much you’ve raised overall. The donations will go directly to Rainforest Foundation US without any extra work on your part.
Mail a check
If a personal fundraising page doesn’t work for your purposes (e.g., you want to collect cash donations or checks at an in-person event), you can always mail a check to us at:
