De acordo com o <a href=\"https:\/\/brasil.mapbiomas.org\/en\/2026\/07\/21\/area-queimada-no-brasil-cai-31-em-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Relat\u00f3rio Anual do Fogo<\/a> do MapBiomas, aproximadamente 7,7 milh\u00f5es de acres de floresta queimaram. Embora ainda alarmante, isso representa uma redu\u00e7\u00e3o de 78,5% em rela\u00e7\u00e3o a 2024, quando os inc\u00eandios atingiram uma \u00e1rea combinada maior do que o estado da Fl\u00f3rida e se tornaram a principal causa de perda de floresta prim\u00e1ria nas florestas tropicais do mundo.<\/p><p>Essa queda deveu-se em grande parte a condi\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas mais favor\u00e1veis ap\u00f3s o fim da seca relacionada ao El Ni\u00f1o, bem como aos avan\u00e7os nas pol\u00edticas ambientais e ao aumento nos esfor\u00e7os federais e comunit\u00e1rios de combate a inc\u00eandios em toda a Amaz\u00f4nia brasileira. Contudo, esse progresso \u00e9 fr\u00e1gil. Os meteorologistas acompanham o poss\u00edvel surgimento de um <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/d41586-026-02293-y\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">\u201csuper\u201d El Ni\u00f1o<\/a> em 2026 \u2014 o mesmo padr\u00e3o clim\u00e1tico que ajudou a produzir a seca hist\u00f3rica por tr\u00e1s dos inc\u00eandios de 2024.<\/p><p>As primeiras modelagens indicam que a atividade do fogo deve aumentar em toda a Amaz\u00f4nia, especialmente porque as press\u00f5es subjacentes \u2014 expans\u00e3o agr\u00edcola, garimpo ilegal e queimadas para limpeza de terra \u2014 permanecem. J\u00e1 entre os meses de janeiro e agosto de 2026, a Amaz\u00f4nia brasileira teve mais de quatro milh\u00f5es de acres queimados \u2014 460.000 acres a mais do que no mesmo per\u00edodo de 2025 \u2014 de acordo com o <a href=\"https:\/\/plataforma.monitorfogo.mapbiomas.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Monitor do Fogo<\/a> do MapBiomas.<\/p><p>Previs\u00f5es de temperaturas mais altas e condi\u00e7\u00f5es mais secas colocaram o governo brasileiro e as comunidades ind\u00edgenas em alerta m\u00e1ximo. Enquanto isso, no primeiro semestre de 2026, os n\u00edveis de desmatamento na Amaz\u00f4nia brasileira ca\u00edram para o menor patamar em 10 anos. Entre janeiro e junho, foi registrado um total de 320.000 acres de desmatamento, uma redu\u00e7\u00e3o de 38% em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao mesmo per\u00edodo de 2025, segundo o Instituto Nacional de Constatou-se tamb\u00e9m que grileiros exploram essa pr\u00e1tica, usando inc\u00eandios criminosos para avan\u00e7ar sobre \u00e1reas rec\u00e9m-vulnerabilizadas sem precisar derrubar e secar a floresta eles mesmos.<\/span><\/p><p><strong style=\"background-color: transparent; font-size: 1rem; color: #ffffff;\">Seca:<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Intensificada pelas mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas, a <a style=\"color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/rainforestfoundation.org\/pt\/our-work\/where-we-work\/amazon\/amazon-rainforest-drought\/\">seca<\/a> prolongada mudou fundamentalmente o comportamento do fogo na Amaz\u00f4nia. As florestas tropicais s\u00e3o naturalmente \u00famidas e raramente queimam sob condi\u00e7\u00f5es normais. Mas, \u00e0 medida que as florestas tropicais ficam mais secas, os inc\u00eandios iniciados para limpeza de terreno agora podem escapar mais facilmente para a floresta prim\u00e1ria vizinha, onde podem queimar milhares de acres. Da mesma forma, em 2024, mais de 87% dos focos de inc\u00eandio registrados no Brasil ocorreram <a href=\"https:\/\/acervo.socioambiental.org\/sites\/default\/files\/documents\/c3d00078_3.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">fora dos territ\u00f3rios ind\u00edgenas<\/a>. Os inc\u00eandios dentro dos territ\u00f3rios ind\u00edgenas tamb\u00e9m tendem a queimar em temperaturas mais baixas, segundo dados do Global Forest Watch, o que \u00e9 consistente com o uso controlado do fogo na agricultura tradicional de subsist\u00eancia.<\/p><p>Isso n\u00e3o significa que as terras ind\u00edgenas sejam imunes ao fogo, especialmente durante secas severas; inc\u00eandios iniciados fora de seus limites ainda podem se espalhar para dentro.
